CMAQ Call For Projects - Addendum 1

The Tehama County Transportation Commission (TCTC) is extending the call for projects in Tehama County that are eligible for Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding. Tehama County is classified as “non-attainment” 8-hour ozone standard and now receives CMAQ funding for projects that can help the area reach and maintain air quality standards. TCTC has a goal of programming a total of $2,987,519 of CMAQ funds covering Federal Fiscal Years 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 to fund eligible transportation projects that can demonstrate emission reductions that will improve air quality.

CMAQ is a federal funding program authorized as part of the federal surface transportation funding bill Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act. Projects requesting CMAQ funding must have a government agency sponsor with an existing Master Agreement with Caltrans.

A variety of projects and programs are eligible for CMAQ funding. General project and program eligibility is defined by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and specific information is provided in the document entitled, “The Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act, Interim Program Guidance,” dated November 12, 2013. This document is available on the FHWA website at:
